While The Schaefer Yarn Company is just 15 years old, they have been hand dyeing variegated yarn commercially since 1980 - first in Mendocino, California, then in New York City. Schaefer Yarn Company is now located in Interlaken, a village just north of Ithaca in the beautiful Finger Lakes region of New York.

Cozy Cabin is proud to bring Schaefer Yarn to you.  Each and every skein of yarn is still individually hand painted, just as it was in the beginning.   The result: 45 unique colorways available in all of their wool and wool blend yarns, plus 27 colors in the finest pima cotton in the world, Laurel, a worsted weight yarn, and Susan, a delicious sport weight.
